WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — The 60th Presidential Inauguration is just under two months away. It will take place on Jan. 20, 2025, at the United States Capitol.
Here’s everything you can expect, according to the National Park Service (NPS).
President-elect Donald Trump and Vice President-elect JD Vance will be sworn in at about noon, and soon after, there will be a traditional luncheon.
The NPS doesn’t distribute tickets for the inaugural events; instead, members of Congress usually receive a certain number of tickets to the swearing-in ceremony to distribute to constituents.
You can contact your Senator or Representative for information about tickets.
After the inaugural events, newly-sworn-in Trump and Vance will go to the east front steps of the Capitol where they will review military troops before guiding a procession of ceremonial military regiments, organizations, a marching band and floats to the White House.
The president, vice president, their spouses and special guests will then watch the parade.
The NPS doesn’t get tickets to parade bleacher seating. The Presidential Inaugural Committee will have ticket information once its site is available.
For organizations interested in participating in the Presidential Inaugural Parade, you can apply to be part of it here. You have to apply before Dec. 4.
