ALEXANDRIA, Va. (DC News Now) — The Alexandria Police Department (APD) said it arrested a man on Thursday for trying to abduct a woman at a dog park last month.
At about 6 p.m. on Oct. 29, a woman was at Holmes Run Dog Park when she was grabbed from behind. APD said the woman was able to fight off 21-year-old Rohid Hakimi, who tried pulling her into a wooded area.
He fled from the scene. At the time, she told police her attacker was wearing a blue sweatshirt and camouflage shorts.
APD canvassed the surrounding area and worked to find the suspect for weeks before eventually arresting Hakimi.
He was charged with attempted abduction with intent to defile and sexual battery.
