WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — D.C. police said Union Market’s security team alerted them to someone who reportedly placed screws in the roadway near a ballot drop box in Northeast on Election Day.
The Metropolitan Police Department said the incident happened in the 1300 block of 5th St. at around 2 p.m.
MPD said the situation is being investigated and officers will be keeping a close eye on polling places and ballot drop box locations throughout the evening.
