PRINCE GEORGE’S COUNTY, Md. (DC News Now) — The Prince George’s County Police Department (PGPD) released new details and the name of a motorcyclist who died in a crash on Sunday.
According to police, on Oct. 27 around 12:30 a.m., officers were called to the 3400 block of Ritchie Marlboro Road for a crash involving two motorcycles and a cow.
Once at the scene, first responders found a motorcyclist, later identified as 24-year-old Justin Crosby, of Catonsville, on the side of the road in serious condition.
He died there.
Police officers also discovered a second motorcyclist on the road with non-life-threatening injuries.
PGPD’s preliminary investigation revealed that Crosby and another motorcyclist were traveling north on Ritchie Marlboro Road when the second rider collided with a cow that wandered into the road.
Police said Crosby was able to avoid hitting the cow. However, police said that’s when he lost control of his motorcycle and crashed into a guardrail.
The cow died in the collision.
