A longtime Maryland State Police lieutenant was arrested early Saturday morning for suspected impaired driving following a two-vehicle crash, the department said in a news release.
Lieutenant Duane Hill, a nearly 20-year veteran currently assigned to the Human Resources Division, was placed on administrative leave with pay following the incident, according to the statement.
Shortly after 1 a.m. Saturday, troopers from the Golden Ring Barrack responded to reports of a crash on northbound Interstate 83, near Ruxton Road, the release said. Investigators said Hill, who was off-duty and driving a personal vehicle, struck another vehicle while traveling north. No injuries were reported.
The state police are conducting an administrative investigation, which remains ongoing, the release said.
