(NewsNation) — Grammy award-winning rapper “Lil Durk” was arrested by U.S. Marshals in Florida on Thursday in connection to an alleged murder-for-hire plot.
Chicago native Durk Banks, 32, was booked into the Broward County Jail, pending charges of murder-for-hire, according to jail records.
No further details have been released regarding Banks’ charges.
Banks was sued earlier this month in the 2020 fatal shooting of FBG Duck.
In Los Angeles, five members of Bank’s hip-hop group were indicted on federal charges in a plot to kill Georgia rapper Quando Rondo. The indictment was unsealed during court Thursday, charging “Only the Family” members Kavon London Grant, Deandre Dontrell Wilson, Keith Jones, David Brian Lindsey and Asa Houston.
The four face charges including conspiracy to commit murder-for-hire, committing murder-for-hire resulting in death, as well as the use of, carry and discharge of firearms and a machinegun in the furtherance of a crime of violence resulting in death.
Rondo was allegedly targeted after his suspected involvement in the 2020 Atlanta death of emerging Chicago rapper King Von, police said.
