Brenda Song and Macaulay Culkin always have each other’s backs.
On Saturday, Oct. 19, the pair attended the star-studded Fourth Annual Academy Museum Gala at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures in Los Angeles, where they coordinated in elevated attire and shared a wholesome bonding moment on the red carpet.
While posing for snaps, The Last Showgirl star, 36, turned her attention to her fiancé, 44, who appeared to have some trouble with his wardrobe. In photos taken at the event, she could be seen smiling at Culkin and briefly adjusting his bowtie as he lifted his neck for ease of access.

For the event, Song wore a stunning shiny gold gown, complete with a one-shoulder neckline, a belt piece and an off-the-shoulder piece of matching material that also served as a small train. She accessorized the outfit with some dark red lipgloss, matching dark red nails, dangly silver earrings and a pair of heels — which were covered by the lengthy pleaded number she was wearing.
Thanks to Song’s tie-adjustment efforts, Culkin could be seen wearing a black velvet jacket, matching bowtie and a pair of black glasses to reel it all in.
Others in attendance at this weekend’s Academy Museum Gala included Selena Gomez, Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo, Kim Kardashian, Kylie Jenner, Kendall Jenner, Nicole Kidman, Ayo Edebiri, Demi Moore and Colman Domingo.
The event marked a rare public date night for Culkin and Song, who previously stepped out at the 2024 Toronto International Film Festival for the premiere of Song’s latest film The Last Showgirl in September.
For the TIFF premiere at the Princess of Wales Theatre, the duo wore coordinating black looks — Song in a spaghetti-strap black dress with crystal detailing, while Culkin opted for a classic black suit, black glasses and a partly unbuttoned dress shirt.
Song and Culkin, who a source told PEOPLE were in engaged in January 2022 after more than four years of dating, share two children: Dakota Song Culkin, 2, and another son, who they welcomed in December 2022.
“I’m just so lucky to have wonderful support from my partner, from my family. Like, I couldn’t do anything without them,” Song said at her latest movie premiere, while speaking with Canadian entertainment show Etalk. “I think of my parents watching my kids right now. None of this would be possible without a whole team of people holding me up.”
Per IMDb, Song’s latest movie — directed by Gia Coppola and starring Pamela Anderson, Jamie Lee Curtis, Dave Bautista — is her first since 2022’s Love Accidentally, and her first screen role since her voice work in Netflix series Blue Eye Samurai in 2023.
Song recently paid tribute to Culkin on Father’s Day in June by sharing a touching Instagram message in which she referred to him as “the best papa in the world” and someone “who goes above and beyond everyday, who is willing to do (or wear) literally anything to just get a smile from one of his boys.”

“Even though you don’t think it — we see all that you do everyday,” Song wrote. “All the big things but especially the little things. Thank you for always being our pack mule, our chef, garbage man, and doing all the things that keep this crazy train moving. I could not have wished up a better partner to raise our kiddos with or a better role model for them to look up to. We love you.”
