A man was fatally shot Friday afternoon outside an Uptown fast-food restaurant, police said.
Police said the 45-year-old man was sitting in a vehicle in a restaurant parking lot on the 1000 block of West Wilson Avenue around 3:45 p.m. when two men approached him, one pulling a gun and opening fire, police said.
The man was taken in critical condition to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center where he was later pronounced dead, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office. His identity wasn’t immediately released.
No one was in custody as of Friday night, police said, and area detectives were investigating the shooting.
