The Glasgow, Scotland native fell in love with music at the age of 14 when he began working at Rubadub, a local record shop.
‘I never had to buy any records again. So that was an obvious perk [of the job],’ Revill told Resident Advisor in a 2012 interview.
He gushed to the outlet at the time: ‘It was just little things like when promos would come in and you would have first dibs on them.
His final performance was on September 27
‘You’d maybe have to argue about it with one of the older buyers or whatever but you knew you could at least borrow it for a gig or borrow it for the weekend, and that for me was really invaluable.’
At 17, Revill was set on becoming a DJ after gaining popularity in Glasgow clubs.
Over the twenty plus years he has spent in the music industry, the decorated producer had earned the Breakthrough DJ Award at DJ Mag’s Best of British Awards in 2010. He was also known for his 2014 residency at BBC Radio.
Revill documented his final performance via Instagram on September 27.
