EXCLUSIVE: There’s change at the unscripted unit of talent agency Buchwald.
Julie Choi has been promoted to Head of Unscripted Talent and Content, while Ivo Fischer, who joined in that role two years ago, has exited.
Separately, the agency has promoted Shawn Scallon and Sheri Talkovsky to Co-Vice Presidents of Talent in New York.
Choi, who is based in LA, joined Buchwald in November 2022, from APA, as an agent in the Unscripted Talent and Content department. She will now lead the division. Her clients include Ross Mathews, a host on The Drew Barrymore Show and a judge on RuPaul’s Drag Race, Kimberly Goodman, exec producer of Lizzo’s Watch Out for Big Grrrls, Top Chef producer Thi Nguyen, Selling Sunset exec producer Sundee Manusakis and So You Think You Can Dance talent Alison Holker.
She also reps production companies including UNconventional Entertainment, Deep Fusion, and Michael Levitt Productions. Choi was also previously an executive at the Game Show Network (GSN) before moving to Paradigm.
Fischer joined Buchwald to oversee its unscripted division in 2022 from Unleashed Entertainment, where he served as head of business development, having spent 20 years at WME.
Scallon joined Buchwald in 2021 as a talent agent in the LA Angeles office and recently relocated to New York. Scallon’s clients includes Orlando Jones, Drea de Matteo, Eric Balfour, Jack Falahee, Quincy Brown, Inbar Lavi and Eka Darville. Before joining Buchwald, he spent 12 years at Paradigm.
Talkovsky has been at the agency for ten years, having joined n 2014 as an assistant in the talent department before being promoted to talent agent in 2016. Clients include Maleah Joi Moon, Jelani Alladin, Samantha Lorraine, Atkins Estimond, Supriya Ganesh, Rosanny Zayas, Brittany Inge, Katerina Tanenbaum, Cillian O’Sullivan and Daniel Bellomy.
