ROCKVILLE, Md. (DC News Now) — Maryland State Police (MSP) are asking for the public’s assistance in obtaining dashcam footage after an apparent road rage shooting on Friday night in Montgomery County.
Investigators are requesting dashcam footage from Sept. 27 between 7:20 p.m. and 7:40 p.m. on northbound Interstate 270 near Shady Grove Road.
Troopers from the Rockville barrack were alerted shortly before 8 p.m. that gunfire had struck a white Dodge Durango multiple times. The vehicle of interest is a dark-colored sedan with Maryland license plates. Police said they believe two men between the ages of 20 and 25 were in the sedan at the time of the shooting.
The shooting allegedly stemmed from road rage, according to MSP. The driver of the Dodge Durango was uninjured.
MSP is asking anyone with dashcam video of the shooting to call police at 410-538-1887. Callers may remain anonymous. MSP noted that even if the footage shows “nothing noteworthy,” the data could still help investigators.
