WASHINGTON (NEXSTAR) – Former president Donald Trump will return to the nation’s capital Thursday to speak about antisemitism.
Vice President Kamala Harris will be in the crucial state of Michigan. In a blow to both campaigns neither is getting the endorsement of a major union group.
This is a major blow to both Trump and Harris who were hoping to get the coveted endorsement from the Teamsters union.
The International Brotherhood of Teamsters, a major labor union, says it is staying out of the presidential race.
“It’s not a vote of no confidence for anybody. It’s just a vote. It’s a position that we took because both candidates didn’t commit to the core issues that we need to get accomplished,” said Teamsters President Sean O’Brien.
It’s the first time in nearly three decades that the union has not endorsed a presidential candidate.
“We are going to win New York,” said Trump.
Former president Donald Trump was welcomed by a friendly crowd on Long Island, New York Wednesday night.
“And with inflation, eating your hearts out. Vote for Donald Trump,” said Trump.
In Washington, Harris is trying to win the Latino vote, criticizing Trump’s plans to deport every immigrant in the U.S. illegally.
“Now they have pledged to carry out the largest deportation, a mass deportation in American history. Imagine what that would look like,” said Harris.
Harris is hoping to rally voters on an issue she believes is a win for her, reproductive rights.
“CHC helps pass a law to restore reproductive freedoms as president of the United States, I will proudly sign it into law proudly……..proudly,” said Harris.
Thursday night, the vice president will join Oprah in Michigan for a livestream event.
