WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — Two cars partially crashed into the Boundary Channel on Saturday, according to the DC Fire and EMS Department (DCFD).
In a post on X at 8:47 p.m., DCFD said fireboats and the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) harbor units assisted the Arlington County Fire Department and the United States Park Police with a car accident on George Washington Parkway southbound, near Arlington Boulevard.
According to DCFD, two cars had “partially” crashed into the channel waters. However, images show one of the cars, a Jeep, submerged in the water underneath the brush.
DCFD said crews laid booms (floating barriers) to isolate any fuel or fluid spilled.
