WASHINGTON (NEXSTAR) – The presidential candidates are back on the campaign trail, with less than two months left until Election Day. Both Donald Trump and Kamala Harris are ramping up the pressure to swing more votes but for those hoping for another debate between the two candidates, it looks like that won’t be happening.
With 52 days left until Election Day the candidates are pulling out all the stops, but a third presidential debate is no longer in the cards.
During a rally in Charlotte, North Carolina Vice President Kamala Harris told supporters she wants to debate Donald Trump again.
“I believe we owe it to the voters to have another debate,” said Harris.
However, this was minutes after the former president during his rally in Tucson, Arizona said, “there will be no third debate.”
Both campaigns are framing themselves as the victor after the debate Tuesday night as they work to swing voters in key battleground states.
“We had a monumental victory over comrade Kamala Harris,” said Trump.
Trump criticized Harris for calling for another debate soon after their first.
“But she immediately called for a second debate, which means that she was like a prize fighter that lost a fight,” said Trump.
Harris says another debate helps paint a picture of what’s at stake this election.
“It’s going to be a tight race until the end. And we are the underdog,” said Harris.
Trump will hold a news conference in Los Angeles on Friday and a rally in Las Vegas Friday night. Meanwhile, Harris will be at an event at the White House and has a rally in Wilkes-Barre Pennsylvania.
