THIS is the moment a wife dobbed in her drink-driving husband after he was stopped by police outside their home.
Officers had swooped on Darius Kabelis’ car in Wisbech, Cambridgeshire, after a member of the public called to report his erratic driving.
His wife then wandered over to see what the commotion was and ended up shopping the 49-year-old for drink-driving.
In footage released by police, she also reveals Kabelis only holds a provisional licence.
She then bluntly tells officers: “He’s drunk”.
Kabelis attempts to pin the blame on his wife before pretending not to understand English.
But she exposes him for a second time, saying: “I think he understands.”
Kabelis then shouts out “stop, stop, stop” to officers as he’s arrested on suspicion of drink-driving.
As he’s bundled into a police van, he moans the “smell”, leading one cop to tell him: “So do you. Of drink”.
Kabelis was found to be almost three times the legal limit when he was later breathalysed.
He has now been disqualified from driving for two years and must complete 90 hours of unpaid work.
Kabelis pleaded guilty to drink driving and driving without a licence at Peterborough Magistrates’ Court.
PC Stefan Almariei, who investigated, said: “Thanks to the call from the member of the public, our officers were able to locate Kabelis and put him before the courts.
“Drink driving puts lives at risk and can have devastating consequences, so I would like to thank the person who contacted us.”
