Chicago Public Schools’ athletic director is out a few weeks into the new school year.
A CPS spokesperson Tuesday confirmed that David Rosengard was no longer with the district, but shared few other details.
Rosengard’s departure was first reported by the Chicago Sun-Times.
Ald. Jeanette Taylor, 20th, who chairs the City Council Education Committee, said she hoped that Rosengard’s successor would help bring practice facilities such as running tracks and football fields to schools that lack them.
“I hope whoever his replacement is does their due diligence to work with the Chicago Park District and CPS and City Council to make sure these young people get what they actually need,” she said.
No interim director has been named yet, the spokesperson said.
