Kendrick Lamar is headed for the Big Easy as he prepares to take the stage at the 2025 NFL championship.
The Grammy Award winner was announced Sunday as the headliner for the Super Bowl LIX Apple Music halftime show, which is scheduled for Feb. 9, 2025 at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans.
“Super Bowl LIX. New Orleans. February 2025. #AppleMusicHalftime,” Lamar wrote on Instagram with a video announcement.
In the clip, he fed footballs through a throwing machine as he stood in front of a giant American flag, giving some motivational words to someone off camera.
“What’s the deal, everybody? My name’s Kendrick Lamar, and I’ll be performing at Super Bowl 59,” he said. “Will you be pulling up? I hope so. You know there’s only one opportunity to win a championship, no round twos. … I wouldn’t want you to miss it. Meet me in New Orleans, February 9, 2025. Wear your best dress too, even if you’re watching from home.”
Lamar previously performed at the Super Bowl LVI halftime show in 2022, along with Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, 50 Cent and Mary J. Blige.
