When it comes to some of her early projects, Selma Blair will “never” skip a rewatch.
At The Daily Front Row’s 11th Annual Fashion Media Awards on Friday, Sept. 6, the 52-year-old actress chatted with PEOPLE about two of her earliest roles and revealed that — at least to her — they still hold up.
When asked about the 1999 cult classic Cruel Intentions, which celebrated its 25th anniversary earlier this year, Blair told PEOPLE, “It makes me so happy though, that it would give any more attention, because that movie is such a good, sexy … I don’t know, talk about wardrobe.”
“I mean, she did an amazing job with the wardrobe,” added Blair of the film’s costume designer, Denise Wingate.
“But it was one of the most gorgeous movies,” she continued. “It still lasts. It still holds up. And I love it. And I love everyone in that cast.”
Plus, Blair added, “I’ll watch it all the time.”
“I mean, I don’t put it on,” she clarified. “But if it’s in the background, I will never turn it off. … Like, never.”
Also at the fashion event, which was held at New York City’s Rockefeller Center, Blair discussed another one of her earliest — and most iconic — films, 2001’s Legally Blonde.
Like Cruel Intentions, she told PEOPLE, she will “never” turn off the Reese Witherspoon-led rom-com when it comes on.
“[I] never turn off Legally Blonde, too. I’ll never turn that off,” she said. “Because that’s just really happy … and they have a great energy and they’re beautiful … and I was so thrilled.”
The star also noted that she’s glad the movies are finding a home with “the younger generation.”
“I hope that things come back in style. My mom said, ‘Everything always comes back in style,’ ” she told PEOPLE. “If they’re fine things, they’ll come back in style, like clothes and actors and fans.”

Blair starred in Cruel Intentions alongside Witherspoon, 48, Ryan Phillippe and longtime BFF Sarah Michelle Gellar.
Known for its sexy, subversive storylines and dialogue — including a memorable kiss between Gellar, 47, and Blair — the dark teen flick is based on Pierre Choderlos de Laclos’ 1782 novel Dangerous Liaisons and was written and directed by Roger Kumble.
It tells the story of Annette Hargrove (Witherspoon), the daughter of the new headmaster at a private high school in N.Y.C. and how her life becomes intertwined with new classmates Kathryn Merteuil (Gellar) and Sebastian Valmont (Phillippe) — wealthy Upper East Sider step-siblings who make a bet that Sebastian can’t seduce the virginal new student.
Legally Blonde, meanwhile, stars Witherspoon and Blair as rival students. The comedy follows Elle Woods (Witherspoon) in her journey to win back her ex Warner Huntington III (Matthew Davis) — which leads her to Harvard Law School, where Vivian Kensington (Blair) is now dating him.
It also stars Luke Wilson, Linda Cardellini and Jennifer Coolidge.
Cruel Intentions is available to stream on Amazon Prime Video, while Legally Blonde is available to stream on MAX.
