VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WRIC) — Pharrell Williams and Michel Gondry’s musical entitled “Atlantis” is set to release early-summer of 2025, according to Deadline.
The musical “Atlantis,” directed by Michel Gondry and produced by Pharrell Williams, has been dated for a May 9, 2025 release by Universal.
The film is said to be a coming-of-age, 1970’s themed musical based on Williams’ life growing up in Virginia Beach’s Atlantis Apartments.
Atlantis will bring forth a star-studded cast featuring:
- SAG winner Kelvin Harrison Jr. (from Genius)
- SAG winner and 10-time Grammy nominated singer and actress Janelle Monáe
- Six-time Grammy nominee Halle Bailey (from The Little Mermaid)
- Eight-time Grammy award winning artist Anderson Paak
- Four-time Grammy winner, Hip-hop and R&B legend Missy Elliott
- Emmy winner Quinta Brunson (from Abbott Elementary)
- Oscar winner Da’Vine Joy Randolph (from The Holdovers)
- Oscar nominee Brian Tyree Henry (from Causeway)
Deadline also confirmed that the film is expected to play against the Sony film, A Big Bold Beautiful Journey, which will star Margot Robbie and Colin Farrell.
