When September finally rolls around each year, I’m at my happiest. It means cooler weather is on the way, and with it, fall fashion — aka my all-time favorite wardrobe pieces to style. 

I spend most of my time as a shopping writer perusing the internet for the best deals and new arrivals. I’m well-versed in all the current trends, and as a fashion expert, I can confidently say that Walmart’s latest autumn fashion drop is one of the best yet. The retailer added over 1,000 new styles for the upcoming season, like denim dresses, knit sweaters, boots, and more, to its exclusive brands, including Scoop, Time and True, Free Assembly, and No Boundaries. 

I narrowed down those dozens of pages to the 12 fall staples I’m eyeing for my closet — and that you should, too.

On the East Coast, thicker sweaters won’t be acceptable until around mid- to late-September, when temperatures are much lower.
