WASHINGTON (NEXSTAR) – Vice President Kamala Harris and Governor Tim Walz are on a bus tour through Georgia.
Both campaigns want to win Georgia and its 16 electoral college votes.
It’s a state President Biden won in 2020. Former president Donald Trump has a 65% chance of winning Georgia according to an election forecast from Decision Desk HQ and The Hill.
“When Vice President Harris and I win this election, I can promise you this. We’ll have your back like you’ve had ours,” said Walz.
The Harris campaign is targeting voters in Republican strongholds in a state where former president Donald Trump previously clashed with the popular Republican governor.
Vice President Harris is trying to appeal to middle class voters.
“Donald Trump and JD Vance, they have something a little different in mind. The only thing these guys know about working people is how to take advantage of them,” said Walz.
Senator JD Vance says he and Trump would be better for working people.
“We just want to rebuild a good middle class so people can live the American dream,” said Vance.
For two days Vance has hammered Harris on inflation and the economy.
“Americans can’t afford groceries because of your leadership, Kamala,” said Vance.
Early voting in some states starts at the beginning of September.
