T-Boz of TLC is recovering after suffering a medical emergency before taking the stage Friday at the New York State Fair.
The Grammy Award-winning duo, known for chart-topping 1990s hits such as “Waterfalls,” “Creep” and “Unpretty,” was forced to pull the plug on their Aug. 23 appearance in Syracuse, less than an hour before they were after T-Boz suffered from a “severe abdominal blockage.”
An official statement from the group was shared on social media: “After delivering an electrifying performance in Toledo, Ohio, on Thursday, TLC was eagerly anticipating their next stop at the New York State Fair in Syracuse. However, shortly after arriving in Syracuse, Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins experienced sudden and severe nausea, vomiting, and intense abdominal cramps.”
The 54-year-old singer was “immediately seen by a doctor and subsequently taken to the hospital for further evaluation,” the statement continued.

On Sunday, Watkins revealed that she was “on the mend,” explaining on Instagram that the hospitalization was “just one of those unexpected things that I had no control over!”
