Miranda Otto was all smiles as she stepped out with her family to attend the Sydney Film Festival premiere of a documentary about her father Barry Otto on Saturday.

Miranda, 56, cut a stylish figure as she posed alongside her sister Gracie, 37, her husband Peter O’Brien and their daughter Darcey, 19, for the premiere.

The family stepped out together to celebrate the release of filmmaker Gracie’s new documentary, Revealed: Otto by Otto, about veteran Australian actor Barry, 83.

The feature sees Heartbreak High director Gracie attempt to capture memories with her and Miranda’s father Barry amid his battle with Alzheimer’s disease.

Stepping out to support her sister, Miranda showed off her style in a shimmering snake-print overcoat, which she styled with a navy blouse and black trousers.

Miranda swept a leopard print scarf over her shoulders to complete the look and gave herself a few extra inches in a pair of heeled black boots.

Her sister Gracie made sure to turn heads in a vibrant yellow floral patterned suit with embroidered lapels and black cuffs.

She completed her fashionable ensemble with a pair of chunky black boots and was all smiles as she posed arm in arm with Miranda.

The red carpet continued to be a family affair as Miranda’s husband Peter O’Brien and their daughter Darcey also joined them on the night.

Gracie's film has been described as 'absorbing' but not a traditional biopic. Rather, it is 'a deeply personal reflection on her relationship with her father shot over five years, in the twilight of his career and as his health deteriorates'

Actor Peter, 61, who met Miranda in 2003 while they were in a theatre production of A Doll’s House together, wore all black ensemble for the occasion.

He added a touch of colour to his outfit with a bright red scarf as he smiled for the cameras.

Meanwhile, their daughter Darcey kept it simple as she wore a long black coat over a white dress.

Miranda is the daughter of legendary actor and artist Barry and his first wife Lindsay Otto, while Gracie’s parents are Barry and his second wife Susan Hill.

Gracie’s documentary Revealed: Otto by Otto has been described as ‘absorbing’ but not a traditional biopic of her father and Aussie icon Barry.

Rather, it is ‘a deeply personal reflection on her relationship with her father shot over five years, in the twilight of his career and as his health deteriorates’.

The film sees Gracie take her father to Brisbane to relive his childhood, his poor upbringing, and his first foray into theatre in touching scenes.

The documentary also reveals Barry’s health struggles after he was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease.

The family kept Barry’s diagnosis quiet for a while, partly so he could keep working, but he felt that the film might help others dealing with the disease.

‘Obviously, every family goes through it in a different way and there are tough times and angry times and frustrating times,’ Otto told the Sydney Morning Herald. ‘But you can go through it and also see the comedy.’

Revealed: Otto by Otto premiered at the Sydney Film Festival and will stream in Australia on Stan from June 16.
