Notorious noughties icon Corey Worthington has shared a hilarious clip to social media revealing how he once ‘ripped off’ a magazine at the height of his fame.
The party boy, 31, posted a video to Instagram on Friday revealing he tricked axed lads mag Zoo Weekly into paying him $2000 for a twenty dollar pair of sunglasses.
‘Zoo contacted me like everybody else did and wanted a piece of the party action – My sunglasses at the time. They wanted to buy them for $2000,’ he began.
Corey became a global sensation after throwing an out-of-control party at his parents’ house in Melbourne in 2008 and the pair of yellow sunglasses he wore at the time became his fashion trademark.
He revealed he loved his trademark sunnies too much to part with them, so he devised a sneaky trick to sell the publication an identical pair.

‘I was like, “Yeah, sweet, let’s meet”. I quickly ran into Fountain Gate and bought another pair of sunnies, which was $20.
‘I grabbed my ones off, stuck them in my pocket, chucked the other ones on that I just paid for. I gave Zoo the sunnies and they gave me two grand!
‘That’s my story of how I “ripped off” Zoo with a fake pair of sunglasses. They got a steamroller and rolled over them, but I still had my original. I was up two grand, suck it at Zoo!’ he quipped.

Corey sprang to national attention in 2008 when he threw a wild party at his parents home in suburban Melbourne when he was just 16 years old.
After publicising the event on Myspace, a reported 500 revellers turned up and the carnage that ensued attracted police helicopters and the dog squad to the property.
Two days later, a video was uploaded to YouTube of an interview Corey did with A Current Affair about the party and its aftermath.

‘Why don’t you take your glasses off so we can see you,’ interviewer Leila McKinnon asked.
‘Nah, nah, I’ll leave these on. I like them,’ he replied.
After finding fame in 2008, Corey starred on Big Brother Australia season eight later that year.
In 2018, he returned to reality television on the second season of Australian Ninja Warrior, debuting his new muscular physique.
