After first hinting at her diagnoses in a recent post, Halsey is setting the record straight.
In an Instagram post shared on Wednesday, the 29-year-old singer confirmed that she had been diagnosed with both lupus and a ‘rare T-cell lymphoproliferative disorder.’
The 29-year-old Him And I singer — who was born Ashley Nicolette Frangipane and who uses she/they pronouns — previously took to Instagram on Tuesday to tell fans of their struggle with serious medical issues ahead of the release of their fifth studio album, but did not specify which conditions they were dealing with.
However, she did tag the Lupus Research Alliance and the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
In addition to giving clarity on her diagnosis, Halsey also thanked her fans for their outpouring of support, and she included an optimistic update, noting that her conditions were currently ‘managed or in remission.’

Referencing the release of her new single, Halsey said: ‘Thank you guys for the unbelievable amount of love for The End and the support you’ve shown me since its release.
‘I realize everyone is catching up with news I’ve held in for a very long time, and I wasn’t sure how much I wanted to share,’ she continued.
‘You’ve all been so kind so I want to share a bit more. In 2022, I was first diagnosed with Lupus SLE [systemic lupus erythematosus, the more technical name for lupus] and then a rare T-cell lymphoproliferative disorder,’ she explained.
Halsey noted that ‘Both of which are currently being managed or in remission,’ but she added that she would likely be dealing with the conditions in some form ‘for the duration of my life.’
‘After a rocky start, I slowly got everything under control with the help of amazing doctors,’ she added optimistically.
‘After two years, I’m feeling better and I’m more grateful than ever to have music to turn to.
‘I can’t wait to get back where I belong: With you all [gray heart emoji] Singing and screaming my heart out,’ Halsey added.

Symptoms can include pain and swelling in the joints and throughout the body, as well as rashes and fatigue.
However, the condition can go into remission, during which their are few or no obvious symptoms.
Lymphoproliferative disorders are a group of diseases that cause an uncontrolled production of lymphocytes, a type of white blood cell.
Halsey indicated their disorder involved T-cells, suggesting that it is a condition in which too many of the cells, a kind of white blood cell that normally destroys other cells that have been taken over by foreign invaders or attacks cancer cells.
Her disorder could refer to multiple different kinds of cancers of varying severities.
Among her new photos were images of Halsey wearing a long blond wig with thick waves.
She played an acoustic guitar on a sofa in one photo and gazed into a small television set in an accompanying collage.
She sat at an upright piano in one photo, and another collage included multiple childhood photos, though it wasn’t clear if they featured her.
Halsey told their fans in her post on Tuesday that she was ‘lucky to be alive’ due to her ongoing health issues, alongside a carousel of images and videos that included one of them lying in hospital hooked to a drip.
‘Long story short, I’m lucky to be alive. Short story long, I wrote an album,’ she announced.
‘I feel like an old lady,’ Halsey said in a video with the post as she rubbed her legs in apparent pain. ‘I told myself I’m giving myself two more years to be sick.
On Tuesday, she shared videos and photos of herself receiving treatments in the hospital, along with a video of herself making music
She included a short clip while inside a studio as she seemingly recorded her new single, The End. Throughout the duration of the snippet, she strummed notes on a guitar while singing some of the lyrics
A short montage of her health battle was also candidly shared to her fans, including her breaking down in tears and receiving treatment
‘At 30, I’m having a rebirth and I’m not gonna be sick and I’m gonna look super hot and have lots of energy and I’m just gonna get to re-do my 20s in my 30s.’
Other clips included a glimpse of the singer in the hospital undergoing treatments, while another her in a studio as she sang and strummed a guitar while seemingly recording her new single The End, which she released simultaneously.
A short self-shot video showed the singer in the hospital for what they said was ‘day one of treatment.’
Although she tried to keep an optimistic tone, she also included a clip of herself breaking down in tears amid her montage.
