Lleyton Hewitt is reportedly ‘uncomfortable’ with his 20-year-old daughter Mia’s growing romance with her rocker boyfriend Vanda Erich.
The Australian tennis champion, 45, has struggled with seeing Mia get so close to her new partner, including packing on the PDA with him at a Sydney beach last week.
He was also said to be unhappy about a social media post Vanda made likening their romance to that of late INXS star Michael Hutchence‘s relationship with Kylie Minogue– especially given the pair parted ways after just two years of dating.
‘Effectively calling yourself the next Kylie and Michael is a pretty bold move,’ an insider told this week’s New Idea magazine.
‘It’s pretty loaded, given how that relationship ended.’
They added that Lleyton interpreted the post as a pointed jab at him.

‘Lleyton took that post as a little dig at him. He’s never been completely comfortable with their relationship, so seeing Vanda compare himself and Mia to Kylie and Michael may have rubbed him the wrong way,’ they said.
‘He’s wondering whether Vanda was deliberately trying to push his buttons.’
Mia, an indie musician who is popular in the Sydney underground music scene, has been dating Vanda for over two years, with the pair bonding over their love of the industry.
Vanda is the frontman of an indie rock band called Liquid Zoo, while Mia has long performed in a ‘witchy folk-rock’ duo called Father’s Favourite alongside her close friend Cherise Combrink.
Lleyton, Mia and Vanda have all been approached by the Daily Mail for comment.
It comes after Mia and Vanda put on a very loved-up display in Sydney last week.
The musician daughter of actress Bec Hewitt and the tennis champion took in some rays and enjoyed a dip at Bondi Beach alongside her boyfriend.
The 20-year-old and her man could not keep their hands off each other, kissing and cuddling as they stretched out on a towel on the shore.

Mia threw her arms around her handsome partner, who she has been dating since 2024, with the genetically-blessed couple locking lips and embracing throughout the outing.
At one stage, Mia jumped up for a piggyback ride, her legs locked around Vanda’s waist as he carried her giggling across the sand.
The dutiful boyfriend even offered Mia a foot massage, with the singer raising her foot for him as he gripped it, standing over her.
After their playful display on the sand, Mia and Vanda held hands as they left the beach, strolling together down the boardwalk.
Mia recently spoke candidly about growing up in the public eye, admitting she deliberately stayed out of the spotlight for years despite her famous surname.
The performer says her parents worked hard to shield her and her two siblings from media attention while she developed her own identity outside of public scrutiny.
Being the daughter of Aussie tennis great Lleyton Hewitt, 45, and his Home and Away star wife Bec, 43, meant Mia has been in the public eye ever since she was born in 2005, alongside her siblings Cruz, 17, and Ava, 15.
