The awards ceremony of the Venice Film Festival kicks off at 7pm local time (10am PT) and Deadline will be live updating the winners.
The red carpet is already underway with Maggie Gyllenhaal and her jury posing for photos, with sightings of Golden Lion contenders May El-Toukhy (Woman Unknown) and Lee Chang-dong (Possible Love) suggesting they are in the frame for an award.
Maggie Gyllenhaal and her jury will mete out eight prizes including the Golden Lion for best film. The winners of the Orizzonti sidebar, Venice Classics and Immersive competition, the Lion of the Future – Luigi De Laurentiis Award for a Debut Film, will also be announced this evening.
