An American missionary who traveled to Uganda to spread the Christian gospel now faces widespread condemnation over allegations that he endorsed racist comments about Africans and posted disturbing remarks online.

Digital creator Eric Bryan Stone, who documents and exposes racist commentary online, uncovered the allegations against 21-year-old Mac Miller.

Stone came across a video of two white women dancing with a group of Black men that had drawn a wave of racist comments — among them was one from Miller.

Digging deeper, Stone found that Miller was operating in Mukono, Uganda, frequently filming himself delivering evangelical messages, mentoring local youth, and outlining plans to build a church.

Mukono is home to Uganda Christian University, with a long history of Western ministries and Christian outreach programs, dating back 150 years. Foreign missionaries and people like Miller have turned it into a hub for efforts to convert residents in rural communities.

Online, however, the story was vastly different. Stone revealed that Miller had endorsed anti-Black posts, liking a comment that read, “What’s your biggest red flag? Being brown,” and using a salute emoji in response to a post by user “petercoleslanguages” stating, “This is why we’re better than Africans.”

A closer look at his TikTok revealed a disturbing exchange with an African woman who told him his skin was soft. Miller replied, “My skin’s soft because I’m white, but because you’re Black, you have hard skin.” In another video, he called children in the village “monkeys.”

When Miller’s comments came to light, widespread outrage erupted across social media. A campaign to deport him quickly gained momentum, with Ugandan activists urging law enforcement and immigration officials to investigate his conduct and visa status.

The escalating fallout led to Miller’s departure from the country earlier this month.

Miller, however, claims he left of his own accord, saying local hostility forced his exit. In a video shared on X by Ghanaian content creator Kobe Boujee, Miller doubled down on inflammatory remarks. He said he left “because of animals, people with low impulse control that were threatening my life because I said something.”

Miller continued, “So why would I want to be around these people when they’re so easily enticed to violence,” adding that he would not return and urging others never to go to Africa.

Social media comments are fair game, and Stone has honed his skills catching people like Miller in the act. As he said in his now-viral video: “I decided to do what I do best and expose them for who they are.”
