Jon Stewart returned for an all-new episode of The Daily Show following a month-long hiatus.
The comedian and Comedy Central host didn’t waste any time trolling Donald Trump and the chaos he’s caused over the last few weeks, like renaming Lake Ontario to Lake America.
Toward the end of his opening monologue, he likened Trump aide Natalie Harp to Elizabeth Holmes following the viral trailer for the documentary You Can See Everything.
Stewart showed a clip from CNN where they displayed one of the letters she wrote Trump, in which she allegedly says, “I never want to bring you anything but you.”
The show host added, “For the sake of my own sanity, I’m going to pretend that’s referring to the dishwashing liquid.”
Stewart did not stop there and added, “This is unbelievable. The outside world is somehow fed into this woman — a single conduit. And from there, she is the filter to all the information that is directly fed into Donald Trump’s psyche.”
This brought up the trailer for the Nathan Fielder doc, with Stewart noting it was “exclusive footage” of Trump and Harp to “determine what their relationship was really like.”
The clip superimposed Trump’s face onto Fielder’s body as Elizabeth Holmes (playing Harp), asked him, “Why would I deceive you? There’s no reason for me to do that.”
A24 premiered Fielder’s doc about Elizabeth Holmes at the Telluride Film Festival and released a clip of the film. The preview went viral for how intense Holmes looked at Fielder and how they were having an intense conversation while she rocked her baby with her foot, a revelation made when the shot went wide.
Stewart is not the only Comedy Central personality taking swipes at Trump. South Park announced it was changing its name to South America after Trump ordered Lake Ontario renamed Lake America.
