Jameela Jamil has been forced to cancel her live podcast show after being struck down by an ongoing illness.
The actress and activist, 40, was due to take to the stage on Friday, September 11 for a live recording of her comedy disaster podcast Wrong Turns, in which celebrity guests share their most mortifying and embarrassing true stories with no silver lining.
Taking to Instagram on Friday, Jameela told her fans that she had been ‘really sick’ and will no longer be able to take part in the live show, which was due to be recorded at Kings Place amid the London Podcast Festival.
The Good Place star went on to apologise to her fans before declaring that she will be taking some time away to ‘recover’.
In a message she wrote: ‘I’m so sorry to do this, but as you may have seen from various hospital pics over the past few weeks, I’ve been really sick with a fluke bad luck thing.
‘I am not going to be able to do the WRONG TURNS live show (which you sold out because you’re the f**king best) next Friday. I can’t think of a bigger wrong turn than this.

‘We will come back bigger and stronger soon hopefully. I love being with you in person. I just have to look after myself.’
Jameela concluded; ‘I am VERY VERY sorry. Gonna go away for a bit and recover. Love you. Listen yo your bodies.’
In her caption, she noted that this was the first time she’s cancelled a work commitment in 18 years, before thanking the nurses who kept her ‘above water’.
She wrote: ‘I promise to arrange the show for when I am well enough. I have never cancelled an appearance or booked job in my entire 18 year career so you can imagine how mad this must be over here. It’s been a bit like living Final Destination.
‘Thankful for nurses James, Barold and Winnie for keeping me above water.
‘I’ll still be sub-stacking and posting now and then from my bed.’
Her post was met with a plethora of supportive messages from her followers who wished her well.
The star also took to her Instagram stories to reshare a post from the London Podcast Festival wishing her a speedy recovery amid her illness, with Jameela adding that she was ‘gutted’ to have cancelled.

While Jameela didn’t specify her illness in her latest post, the cancellation comes just days after she opened up about experiencing an anaphylactic reaction, admitting she was ‘exhausted’ and said her ‘heart is fluttering’.
She penned: ‘OK so the day after anaphylaxis and the treatment for it, I am so exhausted.
‘My heart is fluttering and I feel sick. I have fallen asleep about 8 times today.
‘What is this? I’m sure it’s normal but I haven’t experienced anything like it. It feels cardiovascular. Anyone else had this?’
