Hilary Strong is stepping down from her CEO post at John Gore Studios.
This comes as theater and screen producer John Gore moves to bring the UK company and its U.S. sister, The John Gore Organization, together under a single holding company. Gore himself will now lead both operations.
Gore, who has won more 25 Tony Awards, is framing the restructure as allowing for both companies to better coordinate their respective film, TV and theatrical businesses under on strategic vision.
As we revealed back in January 2025, Gore fulfilled a long-held ambition to launch a British studio, with veteran TV producer Hilary Strong taking on the CEO post to oversee a slate that included Joan Collins-starring Wallis Sampson biopic.
“Hilary and the team took the business from zero to seven feature films in 18 months, which must be a record – all the while burnishing the legacy of Hammer Films and expanding into new technologies and complementary businesses to pave a path for the future,” said Gore. “I am extremely grateful to Hilary for the significant role she has played in the launch of John Gore Studios and excited about this next chapter.”
Strong was exec producer on each of John Gore Studios’ first six pictures. She is know as the founder and CEO of International Literary Properties, where she managed the estates of several authors, and as Chief Exec for The Anthology Group and Agatha Christie Limited, as well as Managing Director of Acorn Productions. Further back, she worked at Chorion and Hat Trick Productions.
No word on her next move, but she exits as a “friend and supporter of John Gore Studios as she explores exciting new opportunities,” according to the company.
“I have adored my time working with John and the wonderful team we have put together to create John Gore Studios, and I will always be grateful to John for the opportunity, but we have both agreed that, with the reshaping of the global business, my work here is done. I wish the team every success for the future.”
Gore’s credits include Oklahoma!, Dear Evan Hansen and Hello, Dolly!, and he owns the likes of Broadway Across America, Broadway.com and The Broadway Channel through The John Gore Organization. In the UK, John Gore Studios has acquired the likes of AI production specialist Deep Fusion, Hilary Bevan Jones’ Hilltop Screen and Angel Costumes.
