Texas Roadhouse is responding after a viral social media post falsely claimed that white servers were spitting in Black customers’ food.
The rumor began with a post from a woman identified as Nancy Smith in a Facebook group called “White and Proud” over the weekend.
Smith claimed to be a member of a Facebook group for white servers who target Black customers.

Did Texas Roadhouse Employees Spit In Black Customers’ Food?
“We have come up with a plan,” Smith wrote. “When a table of Black diners comes in and places their order, we walk back to the kitchen to get your food when ready. There is ALWAYS a blind spot in the kitchen, and we are licking our fingers and touching your food.”
She went on to claim that dinner rolls served at Texas Roadhouse or Logan’s Roadhouse were covered in saliva when they were served to Black families.
“Some of the cooks are in on this too,” Smith wrote. “Believe me, this has been going on since y’all started this nonsense with Karmello the candy bar Anthony crap. BTW, the group has over 400k members. Enjoy y’all’s food.”
The post has since been deleted, and Atlanta Black Star could not independently verify the existence of the alleged Facebook group.
Misinformation Spreads
Despite the lack of verification, screenshots and claims about the post began spreading across social media.
“So, apparently there’s a FB group of 400k+ white members who work as servers at Texas Roadhouse and Logan’s that are spitting in Black people’s food,” @yannaarose_ wrote on X. “I want this to be fake news so bad, but apparently it’s not.”
The post quickly caught fire, gaining more than 12,000 likes and nearly 3,000 reposts. Soon, the misinformation spread to TikTok, with social media influencers making videos about the rumor.
Texas Roadhouse Responds
Texas Roadhouse later addressed the rumors on TikTok.
“We are aware of the video that is being shared with an accusation that has been made toward our restaurants. We believe it to be completely unfounded and we take every accusation toward our brand seriously. We are investigating this alleged abhorrent behavior and remain committed to treating every guest with respect, dignity, and the Legendary Service they deserve.”
“At Texas Roadhouse, we are committed to creating an environment where every guest is treated with respect and unreasonable hospitality. We do not tolerate discrimination, harassment, or mistreatment of any kind, and we expect our Roadies to treat every guest with dignity and care. Our commitment to the communities in which we serve remains unchanged: provide Legendary Food, Legendary Service to every guest who walks through our doors.”
After the claim was determined to be a hoax, many people on social media criticized @yannaarose_ for sharing the post before verifying the information.
“Sounds like engagement bait to me, without a source,” Dre Baldwin commented on X.
“I never had to bait for engagement,” she replied. “Y’all engage lmao. However, I was sick when I saw this. So, I didn’t have time to investigate further. Turned out to be a hoax, and Texas Roadhouse has released a statement.”
Some social media users said that explanation was not enough.
“‘I didn’t post engagement slop, I just fell for it and then posted about it without taking three seconds to do the math.’ Revealing,” @ThatGuyFromHS wrote.
The incident highlights how quickly unverified claims can spread online, particularly when they involve allegations of racial discrimination.
Atlanta Black Star reached out to Logan’s for comment but has not received a response.
