John Barrowman has been branded ‘entitled’ and ‘detached from the world’ after sharing a lengthy rant about the lack of free pyjamas on his business class flight.
The actor, 59, was flying from Los Angeles to London with American Airlines when he was shocked to discover that only the two front rows of the cabin were provided with sleepwear.
Taking to X/Twitter, the Torchwood star shared a video of himself onboard to complain: ‘Hi American [Airlines] we have paid for the flagship service.
‘My father and my husband behind and the tickets were very expensive and we get on thinking we’d get pyjamas with the flagship service. Then you apparently only give them to the first two rows in business class.
‘What’s that all about?’
‘So far you’re not batting very high. Meal order wrong and then told we don’t have exactly what everyone else is getting on the flight when we all have flagship service.
‘Can you explain? Thank you.’

In the post, which has since been deleted, John added in the comments: ‘I find that shady and bad customer service. You’re supposed to be pushing this flagship and at the moment it’s not hitting the ball out of the park.’
Yet while the post quickly picked up traction, the reception was no doubt not quite what John was expecting.
X users penned: ‘The entitlement is off the scale. No wonder he deleted the tweet’;
‘The horror for John Barrowman failing to get pyjamas in business class. I hope he somehow managed to arrive safely’;
‘No pyjamas???? Oh my god the worst thing has happened!! The people of Gaza have just started a petition for John Barrowman’;
‘Reimagining of Snakes on a Plane. But instead of there being loads of snakes , there are no pyjamas, and instead of Samuel L Jackson, John Barrowman’;
‘Imagine being so disconnected from the rest of the world to behave in such an unattractive manner’;
‘Sure, by all means send customer service a question after the flight but a complaint on Twitter where 95% of the users will never get to turn left on a plane is ridiculous’;
‘John Barrowman in heaven telling a medieval peasant who starved to death about the horrid time he didn’t get his Pjamas in first class’;
‘I feel so utterly sorry for John Barrowman. This is absolutely tragic. How could this happen to someone in 2026? It’s dreadful. Not being given pyjamas in business class is totally unacceptable. How on Earth was he expected to have a little sleep halfway across the Atlantic without being given pyjamas? This is so cruel. How will he ever recover from this shocking incident? Pray for John’;
‘First World problems!!’
Not everyone was against him, however, with one tweeting: ‘I’m in no way a fan of John Barrowman, but how do people have an issue with him asking for something he’s paid for?
‘You can bet your bottom dollar, a lot of the people in the replies probably complain about things they HAVEN’T paid for! Stop hating on successful people.’
The Daily Mail has contacted John Barrowman’s representatives and American Airlines for comment.

John has not been as prominent in the public eye of late after he was ‘blacklisted’ following misconduct allegations.
He has struggled to find work since he was accused of exposing himself to co-workers while on set of Doctor Who and Torchwood, between 2005 and 2011.
The apparent behaviour came to light in 2021, when he was dragged into a Guardian investigation into Noel Clarke – his one-time co-star on Doctor Who – who faced allegations of bullying and sexual misconduct from 26 women.
John was quickly dumped from his job as a judge on ITV’s Dancing on Ice and has said since he was ‘blacklisted completely’ from the entertainment industry, causing him to fall into a depression and have suicidal thoughts.
However, last year he insisted he does not ‘regret anything’ and defended that on the set: ‘Everybody was doing outrageous, silly things. It’s just that they weren’t dragged into this situation by a piece of lazy journalism.’
Speaking on STV’s Scotland Tonight, John insisted ‘nobody complained’ and that he didn’t see his behaviour as ‘outrageous’.
He said: ‘I don’t regret anything. It’s not so much regret; it was something that was stupid and silly and it was done.
‘I don’t look back and go… because at the time, everybody was laughing. Everybody on set was having a laugh.’
And when questioned if he was ‘basically flashing,’ he denied: ‘No, no, no, no, no. This is where it gets a little misconstrued. I was not walking around flashing people randomly and doing things like that.
‘If I were doing a nude scene… they’d say, “do you want to go back to the trailer” I’d say, “no just leave me here.”
‘It was meant to be a closed set – and I’d say, “leave me here and let’s save time, I’ll just stand here and it’ll save time that I don’t have to go back, have to change, then you have to bring me back and we have to start all over again.”
‘So I would stand there, if I was in a nude scene, completely naked, and if somebody walked on set, which they weren’t supposed to or they were, I might just do something like that [jiggles] and it was nothing outrageous. I didn’t see it as outrageous. It was a different time.’
