2DayFM radio star Emma Chow has revealed that her husband Enzo is suffering from a life-threatening illness.
The Breakfast with Nath & Emma host broke down in tears on Thursday morning as she told listeners Enzo had chronic kidney disease and they were struggling to find an organ donor.
She explained that they were hoping she was a match so he could undergo the procedure as soon as possible.
‘I’m now trying to save my husband’s life. Enzo has chronic kidney disease and he needs a live donor transplant. Hopefully, that donor will be me,’ Emma said.
‘We’ve been undergoing a bunch of tests, and we’re currently waiting for the one test that shows if I’m a match. It’s the first time that I might finally be able to physically help him after years of feeling like all I could do was watch him suffer.’
She added that she was working hard to maintain a sense of normality in her household during such a difficult time.

‘I also have to prepare for the news that I’m not a match, and I have to be okay with that. I’m still doing important things that make him feel safe and supported,’ she explained.
‘Going to every appointment, keeping things as chill as possible with the kids at home, cooking his comfort meals, snuggling on the couch as a family, and sometimes just listening.
‘In all honesty, I’m really tired and some days feel a lot harder to push through. But I keep reminding myself why this season is so important. It’s so Enzo can live a long, healthy life and watch our boys grow up.’
The radio star shares two children – Valentino, eight, and Raphael, one – with her husband.
In 2015, the couple’s engagement proposal video went viral after Enzo surprised her live on the radio.
The star was live on-air when her beau unexpectedly entered the studio.
‘Emma, will you be my real-life wife?’ he asked, clutching a ring box.
After breaking down into tears of joy, she accepted by saying ‘yes.’
In August last year, Emma fought back tears while discussing an issue that affects many millennial mums.

Speaking on her radio show, Emma admitted she was struggling with a ‘millennial mum midlife crisis‘.
‘It’s such a hard feeling to grapple with, to go: “I have everything that I want, but why do I feel like I’m struggling with all of it?”‘ she said.
‘And there is a thing called millennial mum midlife crisis. So, it’s this entire generation of women juggling full-time work, full-time parenting, rising childcare costs, ageing parents, and no time to breathe.’
Emma added that it was a topic that frequently popped up among her friends.
‘This is a conversation I have with my girlfriends all the time, and it normally ends in tears, because we’re trying so damn hard at everything,’ an emotional Emma admitted.
She added that the demands of full-time work can certainly take a toll, especially when it comes to raising children.
