Ruby Rose has continued to speak out following Hayden Panettiere’s tragic death, sharing a cryptic message that suggests there may be more to the story than has publicly emerged.
The New York-born actress died on August 16, aged 36, after suffering cardiac arrest following a suspected overdose at a loft apartment in South Carolina.
Rose, 40, previously paid tribute to the Nashville actress following her death, but has now returned to social media with a striking claim about the circumstances surrounding her passing.
The Melbourne-born actress described the situation as ‘scary’ and reflected on Panettiere in deeply personal terms.
‘I have so much I want to say about our dear Hayden. If the roles were reversed, she would have sorted this already. Our brave, courageous H faced everything head on. She was fearless,’ Rose began.
‘But it is LOUD and wrong and scary out there right now. So naturally I keep calling Hayden for advice on how to handle this.’

Rose then appeared to suggest she believes more information will emerge, urging her followers not to rush to judgment about what happened.
‘I need more time to get this right for [Panettiere’s daughter] Kaya, I also need folks to have patience. Wait for all the information,’ Rose added.
‘Don’t take it from her estranged mother. Or any of her abusers. She worked too hard and came too far for this bulls**t. I promise you.’
Rose’s unusually personal comments have prompted questions about the nature of her relationship with Panettiere, given the pair never worked together publicly, moved in different industry circles and were never photographed together at major events.
Rose has not publicly explained the nature of her relationship with Panettiere or what specifically she believes is ‘loud and wrong’ about the coverage surrounding her death.
Earlier this week, Rose shared her first social media tribute to Panettiere, posting a photo of the late actress alongside some bizarre words.
‘Hayden, I am begging you. No. My friend, no! WHO do we call? What is happening?’ a distraught Rose wrote.
It is unclear what Rose was referring to, although some online speculation has centred on Panettiere’s friendship with former co-star Michelle Trachtenberg, who died 18 months ago aged 39.

In audio from a 911 call, a female dispatcher described the Heroes star as suffering a ‘cardiac arrest’.
Police are investigating the death, but said the ‘preliminary investigation has not indicated any signs of foul play or suspicious circumstances’.
The star and her on-off real estate agent boyfriend Brian Hickerson were said to have flown from Los Angeles to South Carolina, where he is from, one day before she died.
Panettiere had an 11-year-old daughter called Kaya, but later gave full custody to her former fiancé, Ukrainian boxer Wladimir Klitschko.
