The internet is in an uproar over a video depicting a group of white women violently attacking a Black woman.
The St. John, Michigan, Police Department announced it was investigating the video on Facebook Friday.
“The video has been widely shared across social media platforms, resulting in numerous calls, messages, and tips being submitted,” the department wrote.

It’s unclear when the attack happened.
At the beginning of the video, you see the Black woman, identified as Audrey Masarik by police, passed out on the bed as the three white women walk around her.
“What are you going to do, Audrey?” one girl asked.
“No, because I’m really going to kill her,” another said. “Where can we hide the body?”
The girls started threatening the girl, saying they were going to drag her out of the house with her hair. They kept referring to a phone call Masarik had with them.
“What is you finna do,” one girl said as she repeatedly punches Masarik.
“F—k off,” Audrey yelled face down from the bed.
“Shut the f—k up,” the girl replied before she covered Audrey’s face with a comforter, punches her several more times before jumping on her back with her knees.
That’s when the video cuts out.
Internet Sleuths on the Case
Once the video was posted, the internet was outraged.
“So nothing happened to those girls? What if she died? Because at this point it’s attempted murder,” @sxyface_2 commented on Instagram.
Internet sleuths tracked down three people they identified as the ones who attacked Masarik. Atlanta Black Star has yet to verify with police.
“They have deactivated their pages!!!!” @xzbitshowz wrote.
“Ain’t nothing ‘allegedly’ about that clip! They beat her, tried to suffocate her, and recorded the whole thing!!” @coffingirl commented.
A series of rumors began swirling around the video. Images of a pregnant Masarik began popping up on Instagram with a detailed message of her allegedly responding to the incident.
Atlanta Black Star did track down Masarik’s social media pages and confirmed that she is a 22-year-old mother in St. Johns, Michigan, but evidence of the rumored post was not found on those pages.
In the post allegedly made by Masarik, she claimed the girls lured her to the home, got her drunk, and attacked her. She also alleged that she has epilepsy and was experiencing an episode during the attack.
She further claimed she was hospitalized after the incident and had a seizure while at the hospital. She’s now seeking to path through a counselor to file charges.

Atlanta Black Star has yet to verify if this post is real.
“This was extremely hard to watch. I hope she continues counseling and finds peace in all of this,” @ashlivinlife added.
Police confirmed all the people in the video have been identified, but did not confirm who they were. The Clinton County Prosecutor’s Office is determining whether anyone will be charged.
