Nu metal singer Nathan James announced Friday that his father Bill McGinley has been found dead at 72, two days after he vanished on a Colorado bike trail.
The Louisville Police Department had shared on Facebook that McGinley’s final sighting took place Wednesday around 8:40am while he was making his way to the Harper Lake/Coyote Run Open Space Trail.
That day, his frantic son shared an Instagram photo with his father and desperately asked fans in the area to assist in locating McGinley.
McGinley’s body was found Thursday in the Coyote Run Open Space area, the coroner’s office announced without disclosing a cause or manner of death, according to a report in the Colorado Hometown Weekly.
Hours later, James, whose songs include Lost Angeles, posted a devastating video explaining to his fans that his father had been found dead.
‘Don’t forget to tell the people you love that you f*** with them and you respect them and you wanna see them do well and you understand them and you’re there for them,’ he said. ‘My dad has gone home upstairs and I love you, dad.’

The Daily Mail has contacted the Louisville Police Department for comment.
‘My dad has been missing and I flew from California to Colorado to try to find him. And the police found him earlier this afternoon today, and he’s no longer with us. RIP to my dad,’ James said in his Instagram video.
‘He was my best friend. I love him. I’ve been [on] an emotional rollercoaster ride like none other that I’ve ever been through,’ he added.
‘This has been the most mental mind-f*** thing ever of your dad is missing, and then you find him, and you find him and he’s no longer with us, and it’s a different level of f***-with-your-head,’ James shared.
‘And so I just wanna thank everybody who helped me find him by sharing my post and spreading awareness out there. That helped tremendously. And I just need some time to myself. And I love him so much, man.’
In a Facebook post asking for help determining his whereabouts, the police in Louisville, Colorado noted McGinley was ‘last seen riding a white Specialized pedal bicycle and wearing a dark blue shirt, black shorts, white socks, and white shoes.’
James also posted a selfie with his father to Instagram that day, imploring fans to help him determine McGinley’s whereabouts after he ‘never returned from a normal bike ride this morning in Louisville Colorado.’
The rocker added: ‘The cops have started an on-foot search & investigation. The bike he was riding was a specialized, white gravel. He was wearing a white helmet, white shoes, black tights and a blue cycling jersey.’
He pleaded with his public: ‘If you saw him this morning or have any other information, please contact me & Louisville police’
James continued: ‘He was riding on a 36th bike path, Davidson Mesa near Harper Lake and roads to take him back home to his house near Waneka Lake in Lafayette.’

Offering a window onto their relationship, James said his father ‘is my best friend. I talk to him on the phone 2-3 times a day, ever since I’ve had a phone.’
He begged his fans: ‘Please if you have the ability to look and are in the area, please help me find my dad. He means the world to me.’
