Teen Wolf star Dylan Sprayberry has welcomed his first child with new wife Prunette Karl – 10 months after the couple’s epic Oregon wedding.

The first-time dad, 28, who revealed he is now a Scientologist earlier this month, shared the happy news via Instagram with a sweet photo of the infant holding onto Karl’s lacy top.

‘As written,’ Sprayberry wrote in the caption, adding the hashtag: ‘Long Live Sprayberry.’

The actor, who is also a musician and singer-songwriter, indicated the new family member was on the way in a July 4 clip showing his wife’s very large baby bump as she cut his hair.

‘Something in the way,’ he captioned the reel, followed by the hashtag Nirvana. ‘W/ my sweet wife in the clippers.’

Sprayberry celebrated Father’s Day in June ahead of the birth with a card that showed a drawing of a baby and read: ‘See you soon.’

The family addition comes on the heels of the couple’s ‘epic’ and ‘majestic’ wedding on an estate in the Oregon wilderness in September 2025, according to one guest’s Instagram post.

Karl wore a flowing apple-green dress that complemented her long red hair and a matching wreath on her head, while Sprayberry was spruced up in black jeans and vest over a rust-colored shirt rolled up at the sleeves.

Earlier this month, Sprayberry announced that he had joined the controversial Church of Scientology after getting sober.

‘I am a Scientologist. I’ve been a Scientologist for three years now. It’s been an epic experience for me. It’s been so fantastic,’ he declared.

The actor, who has been sober for approximately five years, said that he turned to Scientology in a bid to cure his anxiety and depression, which he believes is what led him to ‘self-medicate’ with drugs and alcohol.

‘I was a chronic drug user for about 10 years. Around 23 is when I first got sober,’ he said.

‘About two years in [to sobriety], I was trying to handle that anxiety and that depression with these drugs. Now that I was sober, I could tell that it’s still there. It’s just suppressed. That was tough, but I had to confront it,’ he continued.

Sprayberry then opened up about the ‘purification’ process he went through after joining the Church of Scientology.

‘I was lucky enough to meet some amazing Scientologists and the first thing that you do as a Scientologist — when you start doing your services — is something called the purification rundown,’ he shared.

‘The purification rundown is what it sounds like. It’s basically a detox program that gets drugs and toxins out of your body for good. I did that and it was awesome. It was so much fun, because I’m a very active person, so doing the detox program with the running and the sauna sweat felt so good.’

He then touted science-fiction author and Scientology founder L. Ron Hubbard’s book The Way to Happiness as a key component in his spiritual journey.

‘The whole reason I was depressed and anxious and all that stuff was because I was not being that person who creates happiness for myself,’ he said.

‘I was creating depression and anxiety by my behavior, my actions, my point of view on the world. So when I read that book, it really helped open my eyes to the power of that.

‘It’s not only something that you do in your mind, but it’s something that I do with my actions in telling the truth, taking care of your body and not doing drugs and helping your parents and not judging other people’s religions.’

Sprayberry finished off his proselytizing post by tagging Scientology and urging his followers to read Hubbard’s book by clicking the link in his Instagram bio.

The actor’s post drew a mixed reaction, with some fans criticizing him for turning to religion, while others congratulated him for getting sober and seemingly finding some peace and happiness in his life.

‘I think a therapist would’ve been the better option,’ one person commented.

‘To be honest I’m proud of you that you are clean now. But I’m sad too because you joined Scientology,’ wrote another.

‘This is amazing, love that you’re sharing your story and doing so well. The Way to Happiness changed my life too, helped me find an amazing partner and made it easier to be my own source of joy,’ a third gushed.

‘This is soooo beautiful. Thank you for sharing your story! I’m so happy you’re doing so well and found happiness and something that works for you. Religious tolerance and respect is so important, we should all be celebrating how happy you are and how well you’re doing in life,’ wrote another.

While the popularity of Scientology among Hollywood stars has waned in recent years, there’s still a number of prominent celebrities that follow the religion.

In addition to longtime Scientologists like Tom Cruise and John Travolta, Mad Men star Elisabeth Moss is also a prominent member.
