Texas continues to battle an ongoing flood threat with multiple Flash Flood Emergencies being issued in Sutton and Crockett counties. FOX Weather Meteorologists Stephen Morgan and Melanie Black have the latest.

UVALDE, Texas — A destructive weather system is delivering its final blows to the Texas Hill Country Friday morning after unleashing catastrophic flooding across the region this week that killed at least two people and left a widespread path of destruction.

The Farm-to-Market (FM) 481 bridge in Uvalde County, just south of Uvalde, collapsed Friday morning due to flooding. Aerial images from the Texas Department of Public Safety showed that a segment of the bridge was completely gone, while the swollen Nueces River nearly submerged the remaining span.

There’s no word if anyone was injured. Officials reminded people to stay off flooded roads and heed road closures and barricades.

Widespread road closures remain across south-central Texas.

WHAT FLOOD WATCHES, WARNINGS AND EMERGENCIES MEAN

Farther north, the National Weather Service (NWS) issued a Flash Flood Emergency Friday morning for the Ozona area in Crockett County. The local fire department said water rescues were underway and asked people in flooded areas to wait for first responders instead of trying to leave.

Another Flash Flood Emergency was issued earlier Friday morning for the area in and around Sonora, Texas, just as the sun came up. Officials urged people in low-lying areas to seek higher ground immediately. The Flash Flood Emergency also covered parts of Interstate 10.

On Thursday, the National Weather Service warned of several deadly flood waves surging down the Guadalupe and Pedernales rivers as flooding spread to the Nueces and Frio river basins through Thursday morning.
