Hilaria Baldwin updated her social media followers on her summer vacation to Spain Tuesday, sharing a slideshow of images documenting the family fun.

‘We are having the best time visiting our family in Mallorca,’ the 42-year-old spouse of Oscar-nominated actor Alec Baldwin, 68, said on Instagram on Tuesday to more than 1 million followers.

The trip to the Spanish island comes five years after Hilaria’s origin story of having hailed from the Mediterranean country – when she was actually born in Boston – made headlines.

The set of images was a combination of selfies and activity shots amid the family getaway, as Hilaria was seen posed with her brother Jeremy Hayward-Thomas, 44, who resides there, in an indoor shot.

She also shared a shot of her seven children with the 30 Rock actor – Carmen, 12, Rafael, 10, Leonardo, nine, Romeo, eight, Eduardo, five, Lucía, five, and Ilaria, three – as they rested outside of a local eatery.

The mom-of-seven snapped multiple selfies during a meal on the summer getaway, smiling in individual shots with her kids.

Hilaria shared images and clips of her family traveling through Mallorca, as they were seen at the beach, in a grocery store and in a shopping center during various points.

The Baldwin family enjoyed the sunny summer weather on outdoor excursions on the trip, as the boys were seen on a playground teeter totter.

Hilaria last month spoke with the The Daily Mail at the 2026 Gurus Beauty Awards about her summer plans.

She said she hoped the current trip was a blueprint for how she’s looking to divide her days during the year’s primary vacation season moving forward.

‘I’m bringing my kids to go be with my family for the month of July in Mallorca,’ she said. ‘So I’m super-excited. So that’s like kind of how I envision the summers going forward. I hope that we can spend more time there and… with my family, and so we’ll see.’

She added, ‘This is like we’re testing the waters and seeing what that would be like, of summers there rather than the Hamptons.’

‘I’m going to spend half with my family [in Spain] and then I’ll go back to the Hamptons,’ Hilaria said.

Should celebrities be held accountable for misleading fans about their personal backgrounds?

The happy family update comes years after Hilaria was plunged into controversy over allegations she faked her Spanish background.

Born Hillary Hayward-Thomas in Boston, Hilaria has been a lightning rod for controversy since she was accused in 2020 of having faked Spanish heritage, with particular scrutiny on the way her accent seesawed from Spanish to American.

However she has spoken Spanish since childhood and grew up frequently traveling to Mallorca, where her parents have resided since 2011.

The fitness influencer and her husband have given Spanish names to all seven of their children.

She defended herself with a public statement saying: ‘I was born in Boston. I spent time in Boston and in Spain.

‘My family now lives in Spain. I moved to New York when I was 19 years old and I have lived here ever since.’

In early 2021, when the controversy failed to die down, she issued a statement on Instagram saying that she was ‘sorry’ about the fracas and acknowledging that she ‘should have been more clear.’

However she maintained that she was brought up ‘with two cultures, American and Spanish’ and feels ‘a true sense of belonging to both.’

More recently she has taken a defiant stance on the subject, insisting her changing accent was an example of ‘code-switching,’ on her reality show The Baldwins.

The controversy erupted in December 2020, as fans noticed that although she went by Hilaria and her CAA bio claimed she was born in Mallorca, she was in fact from Boston and had the given name Hillary Hayward-Thomas.

Various interviews resurfaced that showed her slipping into a Spanish accent, and she once forgot the English word ‘cucumber’ during a televised cooking segment.

While appearing on the Cat & Nat podcast in New York in April 2020, she said: ‘I moved here when I was 19 to go to NYU,’ and when she was asked: ‘From?’ she replied: ‘From – my family lives in Spain. They live in Majorca.’

As the scandal erupted that December, she insisted that the ‘cucumber’ moment was a ‘brain fart’ because she was nervous and not used to appearing on TV, according to The New York Times.

The controversy has since cooled down and Spain remains a beloved space for Hilaria – with the star even once considering a move to the country with her family.

In December, she told The Daily Mail that she and her family were open to the prospect of moving to another country because ‘we need a change’ – adding ‘my whole family lives in Spain, so I feel like that’s a possibility.’

In general, she said: ‘I can live in a lot of different places. But I do think that our kids, like, they want to have their own rooms. That’s harder in New York.’

She added: ‘We have so many kids, and so I feel like we need an adventure. I don’t know where we’re gonna go, but we need an adventure.’

Her free-spirited attitude stands in stark contrast to that of her husband, who ‘likes to know all the parts’ of a potential moving destination and focuses on questions like: ‘What are we doing and how is this going to work?’

Hilaria said that ‘we’re gonna see where the wind blows us,’ adding, ‘I just think we’ve been so stuck in a certain way for the past few years and I think it’s going to be really liberating and just go and try something new and different.’

The Baldwins are also selling off their lavish Hamptons home, a residence first listed in September 2022 for $29 million but has repeatedly gone on and off the market.

The home recently underwent another price reduction – the cost was slashed by $1m and is now available for $18.99 million, according to a June report from People.

Hilaria told the Daily Mail last month that she didn’t believe they were having trouble selling the home, but were flexible about relinquishing it.

‘I don’t think [selling] it’s necessarily trouble. I think it’s like we’re looking for the right thing. We’re also like it’s like a like selling it light… we’re very much in a place in life where “let’s see where the wind blows us”.

‘We didn’t know what we were doing, maybe we’re going to go to LA? We have so many different ideas and then all of a sudden the Netflix show happened like “all right, we’re gonna be here,” so I just like we’re in such a great place of like trying and shifting.’

Hilaria said she had ‘no idea’ about the various price cuts the home had underwent and was also unaware about the most recent reduction.

‘I have no idea, but to be honest, I haven’t even paid attention to it,’ she said. When news of the home’s recent price reduction was brought up, she said: ‘Oh my God, this is news to me. I don’t know.’
