Brookside’s Philip Olivier has tied the knot with his long-term partner Amy Virtue.

The actor, 46, and the mother of his kids, Amy, said ‘I Do’ aboard the Daffodil boat in Liverpool’s Canning Docks, which he owns, with his famous soap pals in attendance.

Taking to Instagram on Sunday, his co-star Jennifer Ellison, who played Philip’s on-screen love interest Emily Shadwick, shared news of the nuptials.

‘What a day!!!! We honestly had the best day ever, celebrating our gorgeous friends Phil and Amy’s wedding!’ she penned alongside her post.

‘Everything was perfect from start to finish and what a wedding venue @daffodilliverpool absolutely stunning!

‘Amy you were the most perfect bride and the kids made our hearts melt! What a gorgeous family, we loved celebrating your special day with you.’

Philip and his Amy are parents to five children – three boys and two girls, with youngest child, daughter Selina Sky, born in December 2022.

Philip starred as Timothy ‘Tinhead’ O’Leary in Brookside from 1996 right the way through to the soap’s cancellation in 2003.

Apart from stripping off for a bunch of magazine covers, he also has had TV roles in shows including Benidorm, Pleasureland, Holby City and Doctors.

In 2019, he appeared in the LGBTQ+ short film Just Me, which addressed the theme of accepting your sexuality, and heterosexual men who have sex with men.

In October, he stepped back into the shoes of his onscreen counterpart Tim for the Liverpool soap’s one-off crossover episode with Hollyoaks.

The Scouser told the ECHO in an exclusive interview he was anxious about returning in front of the camera as he said: ‘I haven’t acted in about 10 years so I was nervous when I was doing Brookside and Hollyoaks.

‘When my son was born, I decided to find something in the city because I was sick of living out of a suitcase.’
