From Jennifer Lopez to Kim Kardashian, many celebrities are known for their dramatic eyelashes.
But these stars’ lashes face stiff competition from an unlikely character – a three–year–old Schnauzer.
Lady is an adorable dog with enviably long eyelashes, who was rescued by the RSPCA Northamptonshire in April.
Her fluttering lashes resemble false eyelashes – and have proved a huge hit on social media.
Replying to the RSPCA’s post about her on Instagram, one user wrote: ‘Eyelashes of dreams,’ while another said: ‘Look at those lashes! How glam is she.’
Now, Lady is looking for a home.
‘It’ll be so wonderful to see her settle into a loving new home – she really deserves a happy ever after,’ said RSPCA Northamptonshire dog welfare manager Kate McCulloch.
‘And we’re sure it won’t take much fluttering of those eye lashes to land herself a wonderful new home.’

Just like humans, dogs have eyelashes to protect their eyes.
When they dig, play outside or explore the park, their lashes are there to shield them from external objects or debris that could otherwise lodge themselves under their eyelids.
But unlike their owners, a dog’s eyelashes are only found on their upper eyelid, not the lower part of the eye.
Long–haired pooches – like Schnauzers – are more likely to have long eyelashes.
Other breeds known for their envious lashes are Maltese, Yorkshire Terriers, Lhasa Apsos, Shih Tzus and Poodles.
While Lady is undeniably glamorous now, she arrived at the RSPCA with severe matting, and was given an urgent haircut, alongside some much–needed dental work.
Currently, she is living with a foster family – but is in search of a permanent home.
‘Lady has been spending some time in a wonderful foster home where she’s started to come out of her shell,’ Ms McCulloch said.

‘She’s a lovely–natured dog but can be wary of new experiences and finds loud noises and busy environments overwhelming so we’d like to find owners who can be patient and create a home where she’ll feel safe and secure.
‘When new people come into the home – particularly men – she can become worried so we feel a calm home with few visitors would be best for her.
‘She’ll need gradual, positive experiences of meeting new people to help her feel safe and secure.’
Unfortunately, Lady has several health conditions that owners will need to keep a close eye on.
The pooch has a Grade 1 heart murmur, and has also been having treatment for recurrent ear infections.
Ms McCulloch said: ‘With those she knows and trusts, Lady is incredibly affectionate. She loves to cuddle day and night, both on the sofa and in bed and is such an affectionate girl.
‘Lady is her happiest and most relaxed in the company of her favourite humans.
‘She’s a delightful little character and we’ve had a lot of interest in her already so we’re fairly certain we’ll find her the paw–fect home of her own.’

Anyone interested in adopting Lady is able to make an application via the RSPCA’s website.
This isn’t the first time a dog has gained attention for its impressive eyelashes.
In 2021, a Cocker Spaniel called Mabel hit the headlines after fans went crazy for her ‘Disney’ eyelashes.
‘People think she’s amazing and often say she looks like Cindy Lou who from The Grinch which is my favourite Christmas movie,’ her owner said.
