EXCLUSIVE: Another new face is coming to Baywatch. John Beckwith (Song Sung Blue) has booked a heavily recurring role opposite Jessica Belkin on Fox‘s upcoming reboot of the famous lifeguard action drama.

Beckwith will play Julian, an extremely handsome, compassionate, and sophisticated Ph.D. student who’s part of an ocean research team brought in to help Baywatch. Sparks fly and white-hot chemistry grows when Charlie (Belkin) rescues him, only to find herself drowning in his bright blue eyes.

Stephen Amell stars in the series lead role of Hobie Buchannon, wild child from the original series and now a Baywatch Captain, following in the footsteps of his legendary father, Mitch. Hobie’s world is turned upside down when Charlie (Belkin), the daughter he never knew, shows up on his doorstep, eager to carry on the Buchannon family legacy and become a Baywatch lifeguard alongside her dad.

Alongside Amell and Belkin, the series stars Shay Mitchell (Trina), Hassie Harrison (Nat), Thaddeus LaGrone (Brad), Brooks Nader (Selene) and Noah Beck (Luke).  In heavily recurring roles, OG series star David Chokachi reprises his role of Cody Madison, Livvy Dunne guest stars as junior lifeguard Grace and Mary McDonnell as Gayle. Original series stars Erika Eleniak, Michael Bergin and Kelly Packard will guest-star and reprise their roles as lifeguards Shauni McLain, Jack J.D. Darius and April Giminski.

Fox Entertainment and Fremantle are co-producing, with Matt Nix serving as showrunner and exec producing alongside premiere episode director McG, Michael Berk, Greg Bonann, Doug Schwartz, Dante Di Loreto and Mike Horowitz. Fox Entertainment Global holds all domestic rights, with Fremantle managing all international sales.

The Baywatch reboot is scheduled to launch on Fox during the 2026-2027 season.

Beckwith made his feature film debut as Eddie Vedder alongside Hugh Jackman and Kate Hudson in Focus Features’ Song Sung Blue. He’ll next be seen starring in the independent film Grind, written and directed by Peter Collins Campbell. He previously appeared in Ryan Murphy’s Feud: Capote and the Women, directed by Gus Van Sant, as well as in a recurring role on Showtime’s Three Women. Beckwith is repped by Innovative and Linden Entertainment.
