Netflix had another successful fight night over the weekend.
The streamer raked in 12.4M Live + 1 viewers globally for its triple main-card event on Saturday, peaking with 17M viewers to watch Ronda Rousey defeat Gina Carano, per a combination of data from VideoAmp and internal numbers from Netflix.
In the U.S. alone, the event averaged 9.3M viewers. The domestic audience also peaked during Rousey vs. Carano with 11.6M viewers.
That’s a pretty decent showing for the streamer, based on the few data points we have to compare. The event was up quite a bit from the 6M Live +1 viewers that the Katie Taylor-Amanda Serrano rematch managed last summer. But, a few months later, Terence Crawford defeated Saúl “Canelo” Álvarez to the tune of 36.6M Live + same-day global viewers.
Netflix has changed its viewership reporting strategy for live events a few times, so beyond that it’s hard to make comparisons. For example, in 2024, the streamer said that 60M households tuned in for Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson.
