Mack Allen’s will be a sprawling 16,000-square-foot Creole restaurant in the 28-story 5POP office tower.
HOUSTON — The owner of the popular Rouxpour chain of upscale Creole restaurants has unveiled new details about his latest concept, which is scheduled to open in Uptown this summer.
Houston-based restauranteur Mack McDonald said Mack Allen’s, as the new restaurant will be called, aims to add a five-star amenity to the 28-story 5POP office tower at 4400 Post Oak Pkwy. that also will serve as a daily draw for the surrounding area.
During a private, hardhat tour of the space, McDonald outlined his vision for Mack Allen’s, telling the Houston Business Journal that the 16,000-square-foot restaurant aims to be his largest and most ambitious project to date.
His first concept, Rouxpour was inspired by his love of New Orleans cuisine, having grown up in the Big Easy. Mack Allen’s aims to go in a new direction, focusing on steak and seafood.
