FAIRFAX COUNTY, Va. (DC News Now) — A 77-year-old woman has died after two cars collided in Oakton on Saturday morning, according to the Fairfax County Police Department (FCPD).
Police said that at around 11:20 a.m., officers responded to the intersection of Hunter Mill Road and Lynnhaven Place for a two-vehicle crash.
Upon investigating, officers determined that the driver of a 2001 Acura coupe was driving southbound on Hunter Mill Road when they tried to make a left turn into a shopping center at Lynnhaven Place. Police said the driver of a 2024 Toyota Camry was driving on Hunter Mill Road when they hit the Acura in the intersection.
Responders took the driver and passenger of the Acura to the hospital. The driver had non-life-threatening injuries, and the passenger had life-threatening injuries. No one in the Toyota was injured.
FCPD said the passenger of the Acura, Brenda Cratty, 77, of Vienna, died at the hospital from her injuries.
