MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. (DC News Now) — Montgomery County Fire and Rescue (MCFRS) said six people were rescued and two people were taken to the hospital after an apartment fire in Silver Spring on Thursday morning.
Just before 10 a.m., crews were dispatched to the 3500 block of Peartree Court for a two-alarm fire.
When first responders arrived at the scene, they saw fire on the 3rd floor of the building.
6 people (adults and juveniles) were rescued.
2 people were taken to hospital for smoke inhalation.
80 firefighters were on the scene.
Investigators are working to determine the cause of the fire.
