A 48-year-old man and a woman, 39, were forced at gunpoint to withdraw money at ATMs overnight in the Little Village neighborhood, Chicago police said.
About 3 a.m., the couple was about to enter a restaurant in the 3400 block of West 26th Street when a dark-colored SUV pulled up and five males, three armed with guns, entered the restaurant with the victims and took property from the business, police said.
The armed robbers then forced the victims into their vehicle and took their belongings before forcing them at gunpoint to go to several ATMs and withdraw more money, police said.
The robbers eventually released the victims and fled the scene. The victims did not suffer any injuries during the ordeal and refused medical help from paramedics.
No one was in custody, and detectives were investigating.
