WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — Metro riders traveling this weekend can expect delays as crews complete repairs.
The Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) said from Nov. 2 to Nov. 3, five stations along the Orange Line will close for construction. These include the Minnesota Ave, Deanwood, Cheverly, Landover and New Carrollton Metro Stations.
According to WMATA, crews will work on cross-tie renewal, repair grout pads, remove vegetation and replace electrical systems throughout the weekend.
Officials said that during this time, trains along the Orange Line will run every 15 minutes between Vienna and Stadium-Armory, and free shuttles will be available to replace service between New Carrollton and Stadium-Armory.
In addition, Metro said riders can expect service adjustments along the Blue and Silver Lines, and trains will run on the following schedule:
- Blue Line trains run every 15 minutes
- Silver Line trains run every 15 minutes
- Red Line trains run every six minutes, and after 9:30 p.m., trains run every 10 minutes
- Green Line trains run every eight minutes
- Yellow Line trains run every eight minutes
