All lanes of the 5 Freeway in Burbank were shut down to traffic due to police activity Friday night.
Burbank Police responded to the scene on the northbound 5 Freeway lanes near Verdugo Avenue shortly before 5 p.m.
A SigAlert was issued for both northbound and southbound lanes. Northbound traffic will be diverted at Olive Avenue and southbound traffic will be diverted at Burbank.
Sky5 footage showed traffic was backed up for miles. Drivers headed to the area should seek an alternate route at this time.
Both police units and fire department crews have surrounded the area.
